Decaf update: I had to go in for a doctor’s appointment (for my wrists, don’t get me started…) on Friday and they weighed me, so I found out that I’ve lost 10 pounds between my last caffeinated visit and now. Woo!
I’m still semi-jobless, which sucks a great deal. One of my professors has given me some work to do over the summer and even fudged things a tad so that I’ll get $7.75 an hour instead of the minimum wage rate of $7.25. It’s not so much, but it’s money for groceries!
And what, you may ask, warrants a post for these seemingly minor details? A bit of good news! Striatic will be visiting me in a little over a week! He arrives on May 31st, and will be staying here with me in the beautiful (and sometimes boring) state of Vermont for a few weeks. What brings on this visit? I’m not entirely sure how best to explain it, but I could say this: we’ve been friends for years, but now we’re not…in a good way :). We’re going to wander around Vermont and possibly other bits of New England as well. We’ll also be making a trip to Montreal to visit some of his friends. The month of June should be a very happy and fun one :).
It’s been three weeks and most of a day now without caffeinated drinks. I noticed (after taking some) that my headache medicine has a small amount of caffeine in it, but in the interest of self-esteem and headache stoppage I’m not going to count that :p. Anyway, I won’t buy any more of it once the bottle is empty. I’m still drinking large amounts of water, and have scouted out a few kinds of bottled herbal and otherwise decaffeinated iced teas that are pretty good.
In somewhat off-the-point-but-still-related news, I seem to be (slowly) getting smaller around the waist. After what I’ve heard from others who quit drinking pop, I’m a bit surprised that it’s not moving along a bit more quickly. I’ll take what I can get, though.
