My waterbed is leaking. Yes, as I write and sit on it. I don’t know why, either, since the leak is on the underside of the mattress. If it hadn’t appeared on the corner of the mattress, which I have to lift in order to tuck in the sheets, I would never have noticed it. It should be okay while I sleep on it tonight, but I’ll have to spend tomorrow evening figuring out how to drain the damned thing, cleaning up the mess, getting rid of the mold that has formed (how long has that leak been there?), and refilling the matress. I had better plans for the day, too :p.

This has been a pretty busy week. On Monday, my mom brought home a new Sun Conure named Sweet Pea. True to her name, she’s very sweet, as well as friendly and slightly loud. Also on Monday, I ordered the PowerBook, which unfortunately still has not shipped. I received an email from Apple today which said that there has been a delay (of course, they didn’t say what kind of delay), and the new expected date of shipment is the 16th instead of the 10th :(. I also almost bought a new (to me) car this week. My dad happened to see a VW Beetle for sale, so he checked it out for me. It’s a 2001, black, with roughly 40,000 miles on it, and we talked them down to $7300. Yesterday afternoon, we told the man that we’d come and look at it this morning and most likely buy it, but then last night he called me to tell me that he had just sold it to someone else. Bah. Now I’m not sure whether I want to go ahead and look for another car or just wait a while before buying one. I’d really love to get a different car before mine loses the rest of its already small resale value. One more thing to think about, I guess.

I’m getting a new PowerBook next week. I’m quite excited about it. Most of the rumors say that updates to the PowerBook line will be announced next week at WWDC, so I’m going to wait until the keynote address is given on Monday and then buy one whether there are any updates or not. I know exactly what I want (the 12″ with the SuperDrive), and I have the money, so all I have to do is order and wait for it to arrive. Woo!
