All the Pretty Words

Well, that was interesting.

About 15 minutes ago, I happened to look out of the window just as the wind suddenly picked up. The forecasters had called for rain today, so I thought I should get up and close the window just in case it started to rain. Well, in the few seconds it took me to walk the six feet from my chair to the window, it started to rain .5 inch and 1 inch sized hail. I realized that my car was sitting outside, getting pummeled by the stuff, so I literally ran through the house (I only run in emergencies, so this is worth noting :p) and had to convince my mom, who was screaming for me at the top of her lungs, that I was in fact in the next room (she didn’t see me pass through). That done, I did a nice little half-donut getting my car backed out of the place I had parked it and put it away in the shed. Mom and I tried to save the other vehicles from hail-related injuries, but by the time we got the hired hand’s truck and our four-wheeler into the shed, it had stopped hailing.

Don’t you want to move to Missouri? Tornado season is upon us! Come on, I promise it will be interesting…

2. As Dad says, “They hate us (Americans) up there”…not sure of the veracity of that statement, but it makes me feel better right now.

Bah. One school left. All I want is a simple acceptance letter, not a freaking red-carpet treatment.

I finally got another letter from one of the grads schools I applied to–Nova Southeastern University–but it was a rejection letter. I’m okay and stuff, I guess. Just worried that all I’m going to get are rejection letters.

So now I’m making up a list of all the reasons I didn’t want to go to Florida anyway. The list to date:

1. jerk millionaires
2. serial killers
3. people who are nearly dead
4. hurricanes
5. alligators

Also–is it strange that the first things I thought were, “wtf?”; “I must blog this”; and “The bastards!”? I can understand the first and last, but I think the second is undeniable proof of geekdom ;)

So, I too have (belatedly) jumped on the bandwagon and now have a wiki, too. I really don’t know what I’m going to do with it, or what any of you will do with it (if you’re interested, that is), but DreamHost had a one-click install for it and I’ve been wanting one anyway. So there it is. Go play!
