All the Pretty Words

I find that I am plagued by comment spam. Someone using the same email and web address but different IP addresses has been using my site to advertise for penis enlargement pills. I’m getting annoyed. I would send an appropriately worded email to the address provided, but I don’t want to open myself to email spam too. I’ve banned each IP address as it has been used to create the spam, but that hasn’t been very effective as the person or persons simply use a new IP address. If anyone has any suggestions for getting rid of the spammer(s), I’d be grateful. At least he or she is somewhat polite…the titles of the comments are always “penis enlargement pills,” but the comment itself is always “thanks.”

I seem to have hit a dry spell in my blogging. It’s not that I don’t have things to talk about, it’s just that I lack the motivation to write about them. So, instead of writing about something that has been happening in my life, I will write about some interesting things that people, mostly Cal, have shown me.

First off would be Kingdom of Loathing. I believe I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s well worth mentioning again. This game is addictive. Very much so. Several people that i know on Flickr, myself included, often congregate in FlickrLive at about 10:45 pm (-6 GMT), the time at which adventures (turns) in KoL are renewed for the day, to talk about their plans for their day’s adventures. It’s a useful way to get hints for those tough quests. Another very useful site is the KoL Helper. It gives a near-complete list of the items in KoL and their effects. KoL Trance is another useful site, with pages about items, quests, recipes, and more.

Audioscrobbler is another interesting site. You download a small plugin for the music player of your choice (they have plugins for several players) and it records information about the tracks that you play and sends it to the Audioscrobbler server, which builds a music profile for you. This profile is used to identify other users who have similar music tastes to you and will soon be used to make recommendations for music that you may enjoy.

We also have Pandaf Golf, which is cute and semi-challenging.

Broog: Alien Film Critic is a collection of some very funny and often dead-on film reviews.

And finally…The Shining in 30 Seconds with bunnies. Funny :)

My cousin, who is one of my best friends, will be getting married this Saturday. We literally grew up together, she being only two months older than I am. We’ve shared everything in our lives for almost our entire lives. That includes baby toys, first loves, fears, dreams, even a boyfriend (and no, we didn’t date him at the same time, if that’s what you’re thinking). She has always been the first one I tell when something happens, the one I run to when I’m upset, the one I know that I can tell anything to and she will still love and accept me. We’ve gotten into our share of mischief together (one of our uncles calls us “Double Trouble”), including a few wild(ish) nights out on the town and some crazy parties. She is, most simply put, one of the very best friends I have ever had or ever will have. To know her is to love her, and I wish that the people who read this could know her for themselves. Her soon-to-be husband is one hell of a lucky guy, and I hope he realizes that and treats her accordingly. To my cousin, my friend, I send my best wishes, love, and hopes for a happy, fulfilling, and rewarding marriage.

I’ve been very stressed out lately, but today i *finally* took the necessary action to get rid of most of the stress. I’m so very happy now. I’m finally going to be able to do something that I’ve looked forward to for quite a while now, and I can’t wait! *bounces around the room* I still have a lot of stress-worthy stuff going on, but it’s all good stress involving two weddings and two special visits :D.
